The Big Debate: Is this a Cirque du Soleil show or a Criss Angel Show?
After numerous delays for the opening of the new Cirque du Soleil / Criss Angel Believe show, the VP of creative content for Cirque du Soleil has spoken. Richard Abowitz who runs a Las Vegas blog for Los Angeles Times interviewd him this week with questions about the show delays and who is the central figure to this show- Cirque du Soleil or Criss Angel?
Some believe that Cirque du Soleil is trying to make the show's central focus all about Cirque du Soleil and a theme about 'magic' in general terms- not in Criss Angel specific terms. If this is true, it would most likely be for the sole purpose of being able to replace the central magician figure (Angel) with another if it ever became necessary.
Fans of Criss Angel believe that there is no show without him and it is definitely HIS show. They are going to see it purely to see Criss Angel and are not necessarily fans of Cirque du Soleil at all.
For those of us who are die-hard Cirque du Soeil fans, we don't believe this production can go wrong; otherwise, Cirque du Soleil would not put their name on it. Quite frankly, we here at Ticketvision fit in to this group. We are all fans of Criss Angel for sure, however we would go to any new Cirque du Soleil production as they never cease to amaze and never ever dissapoint. This of course is our opinion.
